This was the most startling discovery in Leonardo's notebooks. Scholars only recently uncovered this drawing of a bicycle when they restored Leonardo's notebooks and found it on the back of a page that had been pasted down hundreds of years ago by an earlier restorer. The drawing was probably made by a student who was copying from the master. Leonardo's bicycle, including its wheels, was made of wood.
